Frank Weiss cold case update: Frank Weiss was last seen alive on June 2, 2002. Two days later, a fisherman found his body near Lewisville Lake in Frisco, Texas. Now, 24 years later, police arrested three people in connection with his death.
This Frank Weiss cold case update centers on a marriage that appeared to be falling apart in the weeks before his disappearance. Frank and his wife, Lisa, lived in Plano, Texas, and Frank had filed annulment papers alleging infidelity.
About a month before he disappeared, Frank also submitted paperwork to change his sole beneficiary from Lisa to his daughter, Carla. Lisa agreed to the annulment and signed the papers on May 31, 2002. Then, on June 1, she moved out.
Despite those events, Frank and Lisa went to dinner at Uncle Julio’s on June 2. That was the last time anyone saw Frank alive.
On June 4, 2002, the fisherman found Frank’s body near Lewisville Lake within the Frisco city limits. Investigators said someone had wrapped him in black bags, tied him with rope, and weighed him down with 50-pound sandbags duct-taped to his legs. The Tarrant County medical examiner determined that someone had shot Frank twice in the chest with a .38-caliber firearm.
Lisa later told Carla that Frank took a last-minute trip to Cancun and wanted no contact. It isn’t clear whether Carla believed that explanation. Either way, Frank’s murder remained unsolved for more than two decades.
Then, in 2026, Frisco Police reopened the case. Detectives re-examined evidence and re-interviewed witnesses. The department said advancements in investigative techniques, modern technology, and new information from key witnesses helped detectives obtain arrest warrants.
On April 20, 2026, Frisco Police arrested 55-year-old Lisa Honrad on a murder warrant connected to Frank’s death. Less than three weeks later, on May 28, police arrested 57-year-old Keith Hart on a murder warrant in the same case.
Keith Hart helped Lisa move when she left the home she shared with Frank in June 2002. Beyond that, police have not publicly explained Hart’s relationship with Lisa or what role they believe he played in Frank Weiss’s death.
More than a month later, on June 24, 2026, police arrested Lisa’s current husband, 50-year-old Jason Honrad, on a murder warrant. Investigators have not said what role they believe Jason played, whether he knew Frank in 2002, or what evidence led to his arrest.
The Frank Weiss cold case update has raised questions about motive, though police have not publicly disclosed one. Frank’s annulment filing, which alleged infidelity, and his decision to remove Lisa as his life insurance beneficiary could be relevant. However, we do not know if Lisa knew about the beneficiary change.
The arrests of Keith Hart and Jason Honrad have also led to speculation about the alleged infidelity. It is possible to analyze whether one of the two men could have been involved in an affair, but that remains opinion, not fact. The facts of the case will have to come out through the court system.
According to an affidavit, a key witness told investigators that he gave Lisa a .38-caliber revolver. After the witness learned Frank had died from .38-caliber gunshot wounds, he confronted Lisa. She allegedly said that they had disposed of the gun by throwing it into Joe Pool Lake.
Police have not publicly said whether they recovered that firearm. Still, the affidavit, along with other non-public evidence, led to murder warrants for all three suspects. As of now, the warrants are for murder, with no publicly announced charges for tampering, cover-up, or other offenses.
After Lisa’s April arrest, Frank’s daughter, Carla Weiss, said she believed others may have been involved in her father’s death. She hopes everyone responsible will be brought to justice after 24 years of unanswered questions.
Carla described the news as bittersweet. She remembered Frank as a wonderful man who carried her on his shoulders during a trip to Disney and DJ’d her 16th birthday party. Her friends knew him as “Daddy Frank.” She said he deserved better, and their family deserved to have him in their lives longer.
Frisco Police are still asking for information about Frank Weiss’s disappearance and death. Anyone with information can contact the Frisco Police Department at 972-292-6010, submit an anonymous tip by texting FRISCOPD and the tip to 847411, or use the department’s app.
The court has not announced any dates yet. This Frank Weiss cold case update leaves many questions unanswered, including the alleged roles of the three people charged and the evidence police have not yet released.
Lisa Honrad, Keith Hart, and Jason Honrad are presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
